Keith Dixon has served as artistic director of the Bay Area Chorus since 1995. He is a frequent clinician for area workshops and region choir clinics. With the Bay Area Chorus, he has conducted performances of major works including the Durufle Requiem, Faure Requiem, Vivaldi Gloria, Schubert Mass in G, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass and Mass in Time of War, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Te Deum and Regina Coeli, Beethoven’s Mass in C, the Bach Magnificat and Britten’s Ceremony of Carols. During his tenure, numerous children’s choirs, community choirs and groups from area high schools, colleges, universities and churches have been featured on BAC concerts.
A graduate of Northwestern State University of Louisiana, where he received both undergraduate and graduate degrees in music, Dixon has taught public school choral music for 31 years in Louisiana and Texas.   He has his Certification in Counseling from Prairie View A & M University.
Choral Director at Kingwood High School since 1995, Dixon has prepared KHS choruses for such notable conductors as Moses Hogan, Robert Sund, Maria Guinand and Craig Jessop. The Kingwood Madrigals have won four American Classic Madrigal and Chamber Choir Festival competitions. Choirs under his direction from Westchester, Hastings and Kingwood High Schools have appeared in honor choir concerts at the annual Texas Music Educator’s Association convention in San Antonio.
He has served the American Choral Directors Association as Southwestern Division Repertoire and Standards Chair and as the high school honor choir organizer for ACDA conventions in Dallas, Corpus Christi, Oklahoma City and Chicago. He served on the committee which prepared ACDA Monograph 11, The Foundation of Artistry: An Annotated Bibliography of Distinctive Choral Literature for High School Mixed Choirs.
His own choral singing participation has been with the Houston Symphony Chorus, Concert Chorale of Houston and the acclaimed Robert Shaw Festival Singers, with whom he recorded the Telarc releases Amazing Grace, Evocation of the Spirit, and Appear and Inspire.  He has been the music director at Kingwood Christian Church since 2001.
